There was a time where I wanted to be a filmmaker, and I still hold onto that dream even though it's difficult to imagine me being at a point where I'd have access to the wealth that enables someone to make a film. I kind of have arty tastes. I used to keep up with movies a lot more, but nowadays poverty has kind of made it hard to keep track of films in theaters, and in the past couple of years I experienced multiple deaths in my life of people I've loved, or other forms of loss, and for some reason it the intensity of watching films difficult.
Like, part of the appeal of movies is the fantasy and a chance to escape, and watching an action movie where someone gets into a shootout is hard when I've been beaten by someone who had a gun holster on their hip. For me, that's not fantasy, but a memory. I've done a lot of work to deal with the truama I've experienced, and only recently I've been testing boundaries a little more and trying to explore the incredible, diverse universe that films offers. I miss movies, and I miss loving movies, and the discovery and self-discovery that comes from watching movies.
Anyways here's a list of my favorite movies. A lot of them are rare, or hard to find. As I update this site, I will add more commentary, expand either the list or my thoughts on the films. I excluded films that have a bit more adult material that might not be right for you for your age
